In my ever lasting quest now to find more frugal ways to do things and save money. I have come across some great sites, where you can make alot of house products and food from scratch. I get so excited to try some of these things but my fear is the reaction from the man in my house.

He wouldn't mind at all if I made homemade pancakes, waffles, muffins, bread, etc. He is used to me baking from my baking blog days and loves it. But I think he was ready to put me in a mental home when I mentioned that I wanted to try to make non-food items, like the homemade laundry detergent and homemade fabric softener recipes I found on the internet. I don't know why, as he probably hasn't touched a load of laundry in years.

As for cleaning products, I already have a huge stockpile of them from all the CVS'ing and ShopRite deals I have done. I have decided I have enough and am not going to buy anymore. Once I am out of them I am going to try to make them from scratch. Again, cleaning products, not something the man even goes near in my house (sorry Honey, you know its true).

Tonight I am going to try the homemade syrup recipe I got from this great new site, Grocery Cart Challenge. I don't think he will mind. We don't use syrup very often and this will probably make us a nice batch to last for months. Will have to let you know how it goes.

Now if I try to make homemade toilet paper he will be taking measurements for my straight jacket.

A low cost, green eco friendly, healthy natural way to do laundry is to use 3 or 4 soapberry which grows on the Chinaberry tree and has been used for thousands of years. It works very effectively.
