Whats up with the changes I made and are making....

1.) Grocery budget - I set my budget now at $50 a week. And I actually beat myself up at being at around $60.00 this week. So I won't be too hard on myself, but I will try to do better. I did go to one more store this weekend than I usually do, so that is probably why. I am also going to limit my shopping to only Sunday morning. As my time needs to be as valuable as my money. I wore myself out running around too much this weekend.

2.) Recipes for what we have on stock - So far I have made an all day chicken in the crock pot which was pretty good, a killer chicken fried steak with broccoli casserole and stuffing. yesterday my husband assembled an awesome pasta with peas, bacon, chicken, lemon juice and olive oil. All ingredients I left out for him from our stockpile, good job baby. The rest of the week we are having Vodka Pasta, Teriyake Drumsticks and a turkey broccoli bake. I even made us breakfast this weekend. French toast with some challah bread on clearance at Walmart. The leftovers I froze for another weekend.

3.) Coffee - I started making it at home in the morning and filling up my mug. I have most of it done on my drive to work and it didn't cost me a thing. I only drink one cup a day, but would like to eventually cut it out for good. I need to start drinking more water instead.

4.) Christmas shopping - we haven't even started that yet. So that is to come.

5.) Pet Food - will need to buy it this weekend. So I am going to try to buy enough to get a through a whole month instead of going week by week. Still saving money, but as I said saving time too.

I also increased my emergency fund direct deposit amount. Every little bit helps and earning interest. I use ING, which I highly recommend.

Thanks to my raise and a bonus in this Friday's check, I hope to have a nice chunk of money to go to my debt after regular bills are paid.

What progress are you making?

I just found your blog. I can relate to many of the posts. One of the things I plan to do is make a menu for the rest of the week. Also need to check the CVS sales paper and see if I need anything.
